Most parent’s make it a priority to know how to treat or care for their children in the event of an accident, injury or emergency. You may have a first aid box under your cabinet and a list of emergency contact numbers on your fridge, but do you know what do to in a dental emergency. Your child’s dental and oral health are just as important as his bodily health and if your child has a mouth or tooth injury, how you react can be critical too how well and soon the child recovers.
As with most medical situations, there are different procedures to follow for each type of injury. Knowing how to treat such issues as a broken tooth, broken jaw or a tooth that has been knocked out, will put your child at ease and increase the odds of saving the damaged tooth and your child’s smile.
