Probiotics Could Help Treat Oral Thrush

Oral thrush is a oral infection that often affects young children and the elderly. It can cause a painful mouth and tongue as well as bleeding, redness and an excess build up of plaque. While it can be treated, it often returns and many patients suffer from it chronically. A new study shows that there may be a way to prevent thrush.

A new study shows that probiotics can stop the build up of Candida in the mouth and help prevent thrush. Probiotics can also help cure a thrush infection. More studies are being conducted on the effects probiotics have on thrush but the treatment looks promising.
