Dentists Face Extreme Challenges To Provide Children With Dental Care
- Posted on: May 28 2015
Children in third world countries do not have adequate health care or dental care, so it’s not surprising that many of them face dental problems. Dentists around the world come together to try to offer dental services to children in underdeveloped countries, and often face extreme challenges that range from language barriers to putting their personal safety at risk.
Cost is also an issue, as the dentists are not able to easily obtain the necessary equipment or tools needed to provide the dental work. Fundraiser and private donors help with some of these expenses, but in many cases the dentists must supply their own equipment. Still, dentists are able to help thousands of children every year.
