The best way to keep your teeth clean and your smile sparkling is to practice good dental hygiene habits. That means brushing your teeth regularly. If you are going to keep your teeth clean you need a good toothbrush. Not all toothbrushes are created equal and you need to choose the one you plan to use wisely . Here are some tips to help.

Head Size

There are a few different head sizes to choose from but it is best to choose a small one. Smaller heads can get into smaller spaces and make for a cleaner mouth.

Bristle Texture

Most dentists suggest a soft bristle to remove plaque without harming the gums. If you feel your teeth are not getting clean enough with a soft bristled brush, consider using a medium textured brush. Make sure you are gentle when brushing so you do not cut or harm your gums.

Handle

Your toothbrush should fit comfortably in your hand. Consider one with a no-slip grim and a rounded design. If your comfortable while brushing your teeth, you are more likely to do it longer and get them cleaner.

Power

If you feel as if you have a hard time reaching certain spot in your mouth or that your teeth are not getting clean enough with a regular toothbrush, consider a battery powered one. They tend to remove plaque easier and are simple to use.

Gum Cleaner

Some toothbrushes have small rubber bristles on each side. These are used to clean the gums. If you want to get your mouth as clean as possible, choose a brush with gum cleaners.

You are going to be using your toothbrush every day, so it is important to choose one that you like. Remember to store it in a safe, clean place and replace it every six months.
