The Kent County health department will be bringing in some new equipment to test the water for lead. Lead can be dangerous if consumed and many residents are worried that it may be in their drinking water. “Right now there’s a huge backup of testing at the DEQ,” said Allyson Chirio, lab manager at the Kent County Health Department. “People want to know what’s in their water now. So many people are now asking the question ‘What’s in my water?’ and there’s just not trust.”
